Could Global Warming Cause A New Ice Age?
Do you ever feel like you know just enough about Global Warming to be dangerous? Let’s see if we can fill in some of the gaps with the latest info from Global Warming experts.
In the movie The Day After Tomorrow, there are many special effects including an ice event caused by global warming. Much of the science of the movie has been called into question. However, there may be some truth to the idea that global warming could cause an ice age.
The theory starts with an understanding of why Europe and Scandinavia are not colder already. After all, other places at the same latitude are covered with ice and permafrost. Alaska and Greenland are both as close to the North Pole as Europe. Yet, it is not global warming that keeps Europe warm.
The ocean currents called the Gulf Stream bring warm waters up to the UK and Europe from the Caribbean. These waters warm the countries around their path. This is what causes the UK, Europe, and Scandinavia to have such a nicer climate than, say, Alaska. Global warming has nothing to do with that.
An important factor about the Gulf Stream is that to keep the Great Conveyor Belt going, cool water must feed back into the loop and be brought back to the point in the Caribbean where the process began. This keeps the water moving.
Global warming is significant in that it could slow the Gulf Stream, or even stop it. If this were to happen, the cold waters would stay in the area of Europe, the UK, Scandinavia, and the Northeastern US. It could mean an ice age for those regions.
The information about Global Warming presented here will do one of two things: either it will reinforce what you know about Global Warming or it will teach you something new. Both are good outcomes.
In every major cooling event, such as the last great Ice Age, the Gulf Stream has been significantly weakened. This can happen for different reasons. In current times, it can happen due to global warming brought on by human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels.
If the new Ice Age happens, it will likely be due to the melting of the polar ice. This will dump large quantities of cold, fresh water into the ocean. It would disrupt the Gulf Stream and cause the cooling of many areas that now have milder climates. Global warming will be the cause.
An ice age will probably not happen gradually, either. This is a phenomenon that takes place rather quickly. Perhaps it does not happen as fast as the ice event in The Day After Tomorrow. However, it could happen within a few short years with global warming being to blame.
The return flow of cold water from Greenland, which goes back to the Caribbean, has already showed a weakening in the last 50 years. There has been a 20% decline in the amount of current flowing in this direction. It only makes sense that the warm waters coming from the Caribbean have lessened too.
These currents are a part of the world-wide network of currents called the Global Thermohaline Circulation. This global warming could then cause a slowing or stoppage of the Gulf Stream affecting the entire earth.
The statistics are used to answer the question of whether an ice age could be caused by global warming. Observations have been made of current data and historical information gleaned by studying the ocean and the lands around it. With all the information at hand, it appears that it is indeed possible that global warming could lead to an Ice Age.
So now you know a little bit about Global Warming. Even if you don’t know everything, you’ve done something worthwhile: you’ve expanded your knowledge.

Supplies for Getting Started in Stained Glass
The following article presents the very latest information on Stained Glass. If you have a particular interest in Stained Glass, then this informative article is required reading.
This list is meant to help create a shopping list for the beginning stained glass art student. Not all of the items will be needed for every project, for instance you will use either lead cames OR copper foil and their corresponding accessories depending on the stained glass style you will be working with. Other tools listed may be very helpful, but not entirely necessary, one pair of pliers may be enough to do several jobs for example.
Glass Cutters- One of the most important tools you will use in stained glass making, good glass cuts will make or break your project. These range from very inexpensive carbide steel wheel cutters (you will need to add cutting oil as you go along) to slightly more expensive self-oiling tungsten carbide or pistol grip wheel cutters.
Cutting Oil- This helps to reduce friction allowing a smoother cut and also keeps glass debris from encumbering the cutting wheel’s progress.
Soldering Iron- (pronounced like soddering) This is used to melt lead solder which in turn is used to join pieces of metal, such as the lead cames or copper foil that will hold your stained glass pieces together.
Solder- The type you will be using in stained glass making should be an alloy (mixture) of tin and lead. This usually comes in a spool of either a 50/50 or 60/40 blend. The 60/40 is slightly more expensive, flows more smoothly and is therefore preferable for making a stained glass project.
Sal Ammoniac- This is soldering iron tip cleaner made from a naturally occurring mineral that reacts to the heat of the soldering iron and removes debris when the iron is gently rubbed on it.
Flux- Helps remove oxidation and other dirt and debris from the metal surfaces so that the solder can adhere to it. This is an absolute necessity to keep your stained glass pieces together; the solder just won’t “stick” without it!
Flux Brush- A very inexpensive brush used to apply the flux.
Flux Remover- Can be used to neutralize flux or patina and is often used at the end of projects to clean up small errors and over-flow.
Cutting Square- Helpful when drawing squares or other designs requiring a right angle.
Ruler- Used for measuring project dimensions as well as for drawing or cutting a straight line. A non-skid backing such as cork or rubber will help keep it from sliding on the glass.
Pattern Shears- These are special scissors that automatically cut the proper size strip of paper between pattern pieces to allow room for the lead cames or copper foils to be placed between the various stained glass pieces of the design.
Grozing Pliers- These pliers have narrow, serrated jaws for picking up small chucks of glass and can be used to remove uneven or jagged pieces of stained glass after cutting.
Running Pliers- These thick pliers help to carefully break stained glass pieces that have been scored on the design lines.
Needle Nose Pliers- A good all around tool to keep handy, can be used for small detail work.
Wire Cutters- These can be used to cut reinforcing wire or the picture hanging wire to hang your finished stained glass art project.
Hammer or Mallet- A good rubber headed mallet can be used to gently tap stained glass pieces into place.
Carborundum Stone- A trademarked name for a grinding tool used to smooth the edges of cut pieces of stained glass. Should be wetted periodically to make smoothing easier.
Electric Glass Grinder- A bit more luxurious way to smooth the glass edges; this is a machine that will do the job faster and more efficiently. This is definitely nice, but optional.
Copper Foil- One of the choices of material to hold the pieces of stained glass together. Comes in various widths depending on the look of your project-make sure your pattern shears are the same width as your foil or came.
Copper Foil Dispenser- Another nicety, this makes handling the copper foil easier, much the way a tape dispenser makes tape easier to handle.
Lead Cames- The original choice in stained glass support systems. These come as long strips of lead with grooves or channels on either one side or both, depending on whether it is to be used as an inside or outer edge piece of the stained glass.
Lead Vise- Holds the lead came in place to allow it to be stretched before use.
Lead Cutters- Also known as lead pliers these snips are especially helpful when cutting cames for use in the corners of your stained glass project.
See how much you can learn about Stained Glass when you take a little time to read a well-researched article? Don’t miss out on the rest of this great information.
Lead Knife- Can be used to make clean straight cuts on lead cames.
Horseshoe Nails- Great for holding frames in place when assembling your stained glass project.
Dustpan and Brush- Helps to keep your workplace clean which is important in making stained glass projects because debris will prevent things from sticking properly.
Safety Goggles- Keeps pieces of lead or glass from damaging the eyes during cutting, always remember “safety first”!
Wooden Block Holder- Can be helpful for holding pieces of stained glass.
Masking Tape- Always handy in the workshop; may be used to hold pattern pieces together or many other uses.
Picture Hanging Wire or Other Fasteners- For hanging your completed stained glass project.
Lead Board with Right Angle Support- Useful in holding a lead stained glass project in place during assembly while keeping the edges clean and straight.
Wood or Plastic Fid- Great as a burnishing or spreading tool when applying foil to stained glass.
Glazing Cement- Seals and strengthens the joint areas of the lead cames.
Whiting- Helps to dry and set the glazing cement. Can also be used to remove excess putty from the stained glass.
Stiff Bristle Brush- Used for applying glazing cement.
Patina- Liquid solution that changes the appearance of solder, can give a more antiqued appearance.
Rubber Gloves- Absolutely necessary when applying patina or any other solvents to the project; you do not want these penetrating your skin!
Mirror Sealer- This aerosol spray is used on the back of mirrors to keep the reflective coating from being scratched or damaged.
Finishing Compound- Provides the finishing touch to your stained glass project, adding polish and shine while providing a protective finish to help prevent oxidation and tarnish buildup.
Pushpins, Tacks and Jig Material- Items that may be helpful in holding certain pieces together while assembling your stained glass project.
Craft Knife- Perfect for correcting small errors in copper foiling and other small tasks.
Steel Wool- May remove oxidized material from solder and other metal parts.
Plastic Basin and Sponge- With warm soapy water to clean glass and metal debris from your stained glass workspace.
Carbon Paper- For making pattern copies.
Tracing Paper- For tracing the original design unto a clean copy.
Rubber Cement- For holding pattern pieces on glass to make cutting them out easier.
Pens, Pencils, Markers and Colored Pencils- Needed for drawing and coloring in pattern pieces.
There you have it, a not-so-condensed shopping list to get you on your way to a new hobby in stained glass art making!

All About Charities
Many people donate to charities in order to take advantage of income tax deductions at the end of the year. However, it is important to understand what charities are eligible for these income tax deductions so that you do not miss out on any income tax deductions that you can take. It is also important to have a knowledge of what documentations you need to have in order to take the income tax deductions from your donations to charitites.
Charities can include things such as school fundraisers, church fundraisers, thrift store donations, donations to homeless shelters, donations to food assistance programs such as Harvesters, and donations to other charities such as hospital programs and women’s shelters all qualify as charities for the purpose of income tax deductions. However, there is documentation you need in order to legally claim donations to these charities as income tax deductions.
Purchases from school fundraisers are usually accompanied by some type of receipt or packing slip. Use this documentation to claim your income tax deduction for these charities. Purchases and contributions to church fundraisers do not typically come with any form of receipt, even though that receipt is necessary in order to claim the donation to the charities as a legal income tax deduction. Your best bet is to ask the church charities to provide you with some type of written record, even on a piece of regular notebook paper, indicated the amount of the donation. If your donation to these charities is in the form of property or items rather than money, you can estimate the reasonable value of the item and include that on the receipts from the charities. This ensures that you have a reasonable and provable amount to deduct from the donations to the charities for your income tax return.
If you base what you do on inaccurate information, you might be unpleasantly surprised by the consequences. Make sure you get the whole Accountancy story from informed sources.
Other types of charities typically provide receipts for donations to the charities. If you donate items or property such as clothing, furniture, vehicles, toys, or food you can estimate the value of the donation and receive a receipt from the charities based on that amount that also lists what items were donated, then use that receipt for your income tax deduction. If you purchase something new to donate, you can keep your purchase receipt signed by someone from the charities, and use that as a record of your contribution for your income tax deduction.
Charities can always use your help. Deductions from charities does not get you any extra money on your income tax return above and beyond what you spend. However, these charities can use your valuable help, and with income tax deductions for contributions to charities, you get everything you pay or give to the charities back on your income tax return. So in short, you can give your help to the different charities without it costing you a dime! No risk, you help others, and you aren’t out any money. It’s a win-win situation for you and for the charities!
Donate to your favorite charity today!

Your Options In Sales Force Outsourcing
Sales force outsourcing is not a new idea. It has been a dwelling practice in small and big businesses alike. Sales agents, distributors and resellers are the most common set ups in sales force outsourcing.
This industry however has been threatened with the rapid rise of BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) forcing Sales Force Outsourcing to be strategic alternative to indirect channels and sales agents.
Two Models Of Sales Force Outsourcing
There are two models of sales force outsourcing: sales agents & distributors / resellers and BPO solution of Sales Force Outsourcing.
Sales Agents
A sales agent is someone who is self-employed and is the person who sells products in behalf of a company. Most often than not, the terms of payment is on commission basis though there are instances wherein a sales agent has basic salary. When delving into retail or manufacturing, sales agents usually carry multiple products and have established contacts. One may think that sales force outsourcing is a good option as solution. Yes it is a viable solution but this too has its own limitations.
The specialization of sales agents is based on a defined market that depends on the geography or the industry of a particular sector. They will only go for products that are sellable to their available contacts. This means that if you outsource your product to an existing market that has no interest for it, sales force outsourcing is not a good solution.
Another limitation of sales force outsourcing is for you to be able to have a larger coverage, you will need a number of sales agents that will need dedicated management resources to optimize your outsourced sales force.
Distributors / Resellers
If you find yourself confused by what you’ve read to this point, don’t despair. Everything should be crystal clear by the time you finish.
Another option that may prove to be a good a solution for sales force outsourcing is through an indirect channel network. The important aspect when talking about distributors and sellers is that they own customer thus living to up to the name ?indirect sales channel.? This aspect is also the difference between sales agents and distributors / resellers.
While a sales agent sells products for you or your company, distributors / sellers on the other hand buy your products and sell them to their customers. With this, you drop control over the end customer as well as being able to sell other services and products directly.
Just as the same with sales agent, it is limited to a point wherein you can only sell to those who have customers that are interested with your products. Otherwise, sales force outsourcing through distributors / resellers will be a lost cost. That is why you need to choose carefully whom you partner up with – always research, research and research.
Sales Force Outsourcing Organizations
In the past, companies build an in-house direct sales force. The process in doing so requires a large amount of capital as well as expertise. Hiring, training and managing this kind of set up will put wholes in the pockets of companies.
But if this kind of setup costs a lot of money, why do organizations opt for this? The answer: control. When sales agents or distributors / resellers sell your products, you have little to no control on what they do or how they sell your product.
Having an in-house sales force, a company will be able to have control over its markets, prices as well as choice of customers. This setup can be a competitive edge over other companies in the same industry.
As of today however, the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector is on the rise and because of this sales force outsourcing is becoming an alternative to having an in-house sales force. Unlike with utilizing sales agents and distributors / resellers, you still have control over the target markets, sales activity, and pricing.
It is like having an in-house sales force without having to shell out much capital money.
You can’t predict when knowing something extra about Outsourcing will come in handy. If you learned anything new about Outsourcing in this article, you should file the article where you can find it again.

Health Concerns Related to Global Warming
The more you understand about any subject, the more interesting it becomes. As you read this article you’ll find that the subject of Global Warming is certainly no exception.
As global warming affects the environment, it should not be surprising that it affects the health of the people living in that environment. Changes in the climate are changes in the habitats not only for animals, but for people as well. Climate changes are already impacting people’s health.
Global warming has caused intense heating up of the environment. In areas where people are not prepared for extreme heat, there have been devastating heat waves recently. There were heat flare-ups in Europe in 2003 which lasted as long as two weeks at a time. Temperatures soared upwards of 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
Temperatures like this are common in parts of the American Southwest, for example. People are well-equipped to deal with the heat because that is the climate zone they are living in. However, Europe is usually much cooler. Residents there were not ready for such temperatures. Over 35,000 people died in Europe as a result of the heat waves that year. Global warming had changed their habitat, so to speak.
There have also been heat waves in North America. One in 2006 claimed 226 lives. Another probable result of global warming is increased pollen in the air. This happens because higher levels of carbon dioxide encourage the growth of more pollen-producing weeds. Because more pollen means worse air quality, those with allergies and asthma suffer.
Global warming can also affect the incidence of tropical disease. Mosquitoes have been found in places that were once too cold for them. High elevations, such as mountains were once free of disease-carrying mosquitoes.
Think about what you’ve read so far. Does it reinforce what you already know about Global Warming? Or was there something completely new? What about the remaining paragraphs?
However, as the warmth climbs higher up the mountain, so do the mosquitoes. The mosquitoes carry malaria to new regions of Indonesia because of global warming. Dengue fever has reached elevations in the Andean Mountains of Colombia where it was never seen before.
Other health concerns related to global warming revolve around flooding. When sudden storms and flooding occur, it is often impossible to get ill or injured people to medical facilities in time to help them.
Often, people take dangerous risks during floods. They drive into water, thinking that they can make it across. When they do not, they can get swept away and drowned. There is no graver consequence of global warming than death, of course.
People are also left with messes to clean up after floods. This can result in exposure to high levels of mold. Many people will have intense allergic reactions to mold. The person can have hives all over the body. Sometimes, the tongue will swell and cut off breathing. It is a serious condition. Curtailing global warming would lessen the incidence of flooding and prevent this many times.
Since global warming can have an affect on the food supply, it is obvious that people can suffer from malnutrition because of this. This is especially true in agrarian societies in underdeveloped countries.
If all people knew how much global warming can affect their health, they might be more prone to working on a solution. Until then, those who understand the ramifications of global warming will have to work even harder.

Consultants on Alternative Energy
The alternative energy consultants tell us that the transition from the petroleum-driven economy and society will not be a smooth one, on the whole. The amount of new technologies and infrastructures that need to be developed and built is staggering?even as Germany achieves powering 10% of the entire nation through the use of wind turbines and solar arrays, even as corporation after corporation is springing up, helped by various governments’ tax breaks and rebate incentives, to drive forward the alternative energy mission. We have lain dormant on alternative energy on the grand scale for so long that we now have to scramble to play catch-up as access to cheap oil lurks ever closer to being a thing of the past.
Consultants on alternative energy also tell us that we need multilateral, international efforts in concert with one another in the direction of getting away from the heavy?almost total?dependence on fossil fuels. They are poised to become too expensive, burning them is polluting the atmosphere, and digging for them is disrupting the natural environment. We have about 30 years left of reasonably cheap oil and gas?and consultants say that within 20 years beyond that point, we had better be at least 90% independent of them. Unfortunately, at the present time the world is mostly not acting as if this is the case. The thirst for oil is growing, not slaking, and it is growing faster now than it did even in the 1970s.
You can see that there’s practical value in learning more about Alternative Energy. Can you think of ways to apply what’s been covered so far?
One of the major problems of transition, the consultants point out, is that higher oil and gas prices stimulate the economy (This flies in the face of what many energy so-called ?experts? and many members of the public believe, but the fact is that oil and gas are found and manufactured and transported by huge corporations who employ multitudes of staff workers and contractors; and from their huge profits their stocks remain lucrative on Wall Street.). Alternative, or ?green? energy has to become more marketplace friendly, more profitable to investors and would-be employers. Wall Street does not like change; so there is resistance to this much-needed economic transition. It is because of this that many consultants are saying that we need an international, governments-backed initiative put into place; we are told that we cannot expect the new economy to spring forth overnight, all clean and polished and perfected, from the black ashes of the fossil fuel economy phoenix.
It is most imperative that the wealthy, big-production nations such as the US, Japan, Western Europe, and others be the ones to spearhead the effort to get off of the fossil fuel dependence. Smaller, poorer nations are very simply never going to achieve the level of energy production through coal and oil that these nations have?for by the time they would be ready to, the cheap access to the fossil fuels will be gone, and they will never be able to sustain their newly-risen civilizations at that time as we have been able to do. The time for transition from black to green is now.
That’s the latest from the Alternative Energy authorities. Once you’re familiar with these ideas, you’ll be ready to move to the next level.

Various Tools Used For Wood Working
This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding Woodworking. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about Woodworking.
Woodworking is a laborious job; this is because the activities as processing wood, cutting, fitting, etc, are involved in wood working. Therefore it is important to use right wood working tools which help to reduce the required labor and make wood working much more convenient.
The wood working tools are simple wood working supplies as hammer, saw, etc, which are small and operated manually. However, apart from wood working tools wood working machines also are available for facilitating your projects.
The difference between wood working machines and wood working tools is that wood working tools are simple, small, and cheap. As they are small, they are usually portable and have to be operated by holding them in hands. They are used for simple wood working operations jobs as cutting, fitting different pieces of wood in order to make any type of wood work piece. On the other hand, the wood working machines are large and are usually costly. They are used for the activities as processing of wood and even creating new wooden artistic objects.
There are several wood working tools used these days. The most commonly used among them is a saw. There are different types of saws such as Japanese saws, dovetail saws, cross cut saws, Tenon saws, bow saws, chain saws, etc. They are used for cutting. However, before cutting the wood, it is to be marked with wood working tools such as markers and majoring tools.
The tools as measuring tapes, squares, rules, etc are required for measuring and the wood working tools as marking gauges, knives awls, play a very crucial part in marking marks before cutting. Marking is very crucial part of woodworking. This is where the skills of the wood workers come into picture.
You can see that there’s practical value in learning more about Woodworking. Can you think of ways to apply what’s been covered so far?
Then the third most common wood working tools are hammers. The hammers are required to fix nails with which the different pieces of wood are fixed together to make the work piece. Apart from nails, screws also are commonly used for fixing the different parts of the work piece. For using screws, we first need to drill holes in the wood. The drilling machines are the tools for this purpose.
Then the next important categories of wood working tools are the chisels, scrappers and carving tools. They are required for a number of small activities involved in wood working.
The finishing of the wood work pieces also is an important part of wood working. There are some wood working tools used for finishing also. The wood planes are used for smoothening and regularizing the surface. Scrappers and polishers as sandpapers, steel wool and other abrasives also are useful for smoothening of the surface.
For additional support for fixing the different parts, the work piece together wax or adhesives are applied along with the nails and screws. The work piece is also generally colored of polished with varnishes, colors etc. therefore the wood working tools as brushes, or sprayers also are required.
These are only among some of the common wood working tools that every wood worker should have. All the above-mentioned tools are cheap and therefore even the non-commercial wood worker too may have them in his collection of wood working tools.

Clothes Make The Rider
Whether you own a Harley or just want to look like you do, the clothes you wear can make or break you. The true Harley Davidson experience requires a little preparation besides the bike. Most dealerships also sell clothes, or purchase them online.
The Black leather jacket is the first clothes item that comes to mind. Harley Davidson has a trademark black leather jacket. This jacket is worn not only for attitude, but to protect the rider from the elements. It is important to get a jacket that fits. Leather sizing is not always the same as regular street clothes sizing. Also remember that leather will stretch a little and mould to your body shape with frequent wearing. This does not mean that you should buy a size smaller as leather only gives in areas that it needs to. If you can’t afford a leather jacket, a vest made of leather or denim with a Harley Davidson logo may be a good substitute.
Black leather pants are also important for the rugged rider clothes look. Buying leather pants at the same time as the jacket will ensure that the color of the dyes matches if that is important to you. There are several different styles available ranging from classic leather pants, to black leather motorcycle chaps that are worn over jeans or other pants.
Black leather boots are classic Harley Davidson attire. They scream the word “tough”. They are available in several styles for both men and women. Women may also choose clogs and sandals, however these are not recommended for serious riding.
Should motorcycle riders wear helmets or not? This is a question that has been left up to the rider to answer. If safety is as important as the clothes you wear a Harley Davidson half helmet may be just what you are looking for. Several other styles are available if you can’t pull off this classic look.
If your Harley Davidson facts are out-of-date, how will that affect your actions and decisions? Make certain you don’t let important Harley Davidson information slip by you.
Whether you choose a helmet or not, goggles are valuable eye protection that keeps out dust and bugs, as well as adding to “the look”. No one looks cool with a dead bug in his or her eye.
Gloves are also popular with riders. They are of course made of black leather too, and may be open tipped, full fingers and even heated. Gauntlets with fringe look especially cool.
These are the basic pieces of a Harley Rider’s clothes wardrobe. Other options include t-shirts, jeans, special rain gear, bandanas, watches and sunglasses. Leather saddlebags are also a good investment.
There are several articles of clothes available for your special little rider as well. Everything from diaper covers and micro-sized leather jackets to teeny leather boots. It’s never too early to love a Harley.
Motorcycle leathers represent a significant investment. Proper care should be taken to preserve and protect these articles, especially if the wearer is a dedicated rider who rides in any weather. Waterproofing and cleaning properly will help keep leather clothes supple and looking good, as well as promoting longevity of wear.
There’s no doubt that the topic of Harley Davidson can be fascinating. If you still have unanswered questions about Harley Davidson, you may find what you’re looking for in the next article.

Hawaiian Luau
You should be able to find several indispensable facts about Hawaii Vacation in the following paragraphs. If there’s at least one fact you didn’t know before, imagine the difference it might make.
No Hawaiian vacation would be complete without attending a luau. The word luau really just means a party or a celebration. Typically in ancient Hawaiian culture luaus were given to celebrate the birth of a child or a wedding. These days the word luau has become a household name all across the United States. When we think of a luau today, we think of those cheap plastic lays and those silly plastic tiki cups. Oh, but a luau is so much more. In Hawaii there are two basic types of luau. The first type closely resembles that of the original type of luau. This is a private gathering of friends and family for a celebration.
The second type of luau is a commercial luau open to the public and what we tourists typically visit. While in the state of Hawaii there will be many different luaus to choose from. They are basically all the same, with a few different high points. Arriving guests are greeted with a fresh flower leu. The entertainment is usually choreographed and top notch, complete with hula dancers and fire eaters. Sometimes the guests provide some of the entertainment themselves. It’s always fun watching grown men wear hula skirts and try to learn this complicated dance. There are different options for food and drink as well. I myself prefer the open bar type. The food is usually a buffet, consisting of a roasted pig or perhaps some sort of roast beef, rice, and of course the Hawaiian staple…pineapple.
I have to mention some of the best known luaus and those with the best reputation. While in Maui, the Old Lahaina Luau is the one not to be missed. This is the most authentic Luau on the island. The hula dancers are superb and the food is of the highest quality. The other luaus available in Maui are usually done at the resorts and lack the realism of Old Lahaina. Because of it’s popularity, the Old Lahaina Luau does require reservations. In fact, I would recommend that you make your reservations before you even leave for Hawaii.
You can see that there’s practical value in learning more about Hawaii Vacation. Can you think of ways to apply what’s been covered so far?
While visiting the big island, again there are a plethora of options to choose from. Kona seems to be a popular town for the luau. King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel offers a Luau with a shell lei greeting, and a torch lighting ceremony. Check with the hotel for luau days. On the mornings of luaus spectators can watch the hotel staff bury the pig in the sand and begin roasting.
The island of Kaui offers a couple of luau’s of its own. Both the Radisson Kauai Beach Resort and the Kilohana Plantation have nice luaus complete with open bars, fire eaters and of course, hula dancers.
Whichever island or islands you choose to visit while in Hawaii, a Hawaiian luau is a must. Whether the gorgeous hula girls are your thing (scantily clad Polynesian dancers for the ladies) or you are just there for the food, a luau is sure to please.
Sometimes it’s tough to sort out all the details related to this subject, but I’m positive you’ll have no trouble making sense of the information presented above.

How CHF Patients can Take Advantage of Translational Research?
When you think about Congestive Heart, what do you think of first? Which aspects of Congestive Heart are important, which are essential, and which ones can you take or leave? You be the judge.
In nature every action spawns a separate and equal reaction. In the field of medicine, the reaction may not always be equal to the action. The performance of a particular treatment in the lab on test animals may not be the same as would be seen in a human subject; this is where the field of translational research comes in.
Translational research takes research from the laboratory to the patient’s bedside. This can be done in several forms. In its earliest stages a treatment will undergo controlled clinical trials with a voluntary group of test subjects. If these small, controlled tests meet the acceptable range of success the treatment is then taken to research hospitals such as St. Jude’s or Children’s Hospital of Boston. Here patients are given the opportunity to experience new methods of control and treatment of a disease with the understanding that it is still considered highly experimental; however, for many these treatments represent a chance for a cure that previously as out of reach for them as the moon.
The best time to learn about Congestive Heart is before you’re in the thick of things. Wise readers will keep reading to earn some valuable Congestive Heart experience while it’s still free.
Congestive heart failure is, at the moment, an incurable event, occurring when for whatever reason the cells of the heart muscle are destroyed and the heart can no longer adequately pump blood throughout the body. Once the cells in the heart tissue are non-functional the body is unable to replace them, making it impossible for the heart to regain full heart function on its own. The current mortality rate is high, and over fifty percent of patients with congestive heart failure will die within five years of being diagnosed. There are many treatment options currently being considered for congestive heart failure, however, and a number of new technologies being tested daily. For example, Montefiore Medical Center in New York City is currently doing clinical trials on a drug known as Lovosimendan, a calcium sensitizer that does not trigger cardiac arrhythmia, and research into the possibility of using stem cells to regrow cardiac tissue is ongoing.
For a patient to take advantage of these options they should discuss the possibility of being a subject for clinical testing with their physician to see if they would be a good candidate, then allow the physician to make a recommendation on a course of action from there. It may be suggested that the patient contact a research facility, or the physician may suggest their name for a clinical trial they know is occurring soon. If the patient lives in an area with a research hospital nearby, chances are there will be an opportunity for them to benefit from the hospital’s policy on translational research.
It should be understood that translational research is precisely what it sounds like; research. Scientists and doctors are often still learning about the treatment and its effect on the human body, and there is always a possibility that it will be unsuccessful or carry with it many hazardous side effects. These courses of treatments are unknowns to physician and researcher alike. For patients who have run out of options, however, even the possibility of a negative effect cannot stifle what the opportunity to be part of a translational research project provides: hope.
